The legal status of cannabidiol in the state depends on where it is sourced. In May 2019, the Department of Agriculture was allowed to develop a state hemp program. It is legal to use CBD Cannabis oil under specific restrictions. CBD Hemp oil is 100% legal and free to use in the state. According to the law, hemp must contain less than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis.There is no need for getting a doctor’s prescription or recommendation, while shopping for CBD hemp oil. In July 2019, the Montana Department of Public Health Services, declared that CBD is prohibited from use as a food additive or dietary supplement. In Montana it’s legal to make commercials, harvest, possess, process, sale and purchase industrial hemp.
Is cannabis legal in Montana?
CBD sourced from cannabis is only legal for registered medical marijuana patients. In 2004, Marijuana for medical use was legalized. In 2011 the state’s list of approved conditions was expanded. Are there any penalties for CBD in Montana?
Possession of any amount of marijuana with a medical license is illegal and is seen as a serious crime. Any amount less than 60 grams is a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of $500.
